INCTBio² was present at the XVI ONCOVET

INCTBio² was present at the XVI ONCOVET, held in Vila Velha (ES), between April 29 and May 2, 2026, one of the main veterinary oncology events in Brazil.

On May 2nd, researcher Dr. Cristina O. Massoco, a member of the INCTBio² Management Committee, presented, together with Dr. Carlos Eduardo Fonseca-Alves, a lecture entitled:

"Autologous vaccines as immunotherapy: what results do we have?"

The presentation addressed the use of tumor lysate vaccines as an immunotherapeutic strategy in the treatment of dogs with solid neoplasms, highlighting their potential to stimulate personalized antitumor immune responses.

Aspects of the tumor microenvironment were also discussed, with emphasis on the distinction between inflammatory and non-inflammatory profiles, and how these characteristics influence disease progression and treatment response.

The data presented reinforce the importance of understanding the tumor immunological context for the development of more effective therapeutic approaches in veterinary oncology.
